Why Do We Eat More When We Are Drinking?
Have you noticed that you eat more when you are drinking? Well, you probably have and it is probably driving you crazy. However, there is a reason. And the sooner you know it, the better can you handle the overeating.
The reason is that when we are drinking, our inhibitory control is impaired. However, if you are a person who can resist the food no matter what, alcohol will not hurt you. That is probably some good news, right? But if you tend to lose control even when you are not drinking, you should probably avoid drinking that much alcohol.
What you can do in order to protect yourself from gaining too much weight is preparing your snacks before you start drinking. Healthy snacks, preferably. Make your own spreads, dips, etc. And get yourself some good and healthy crackers. Or oatmeal cookies. And lots of fruits. Or, you can practise your ability to resist food. Although, that is going to be a very difficult task.
